A nation-wide summertime marketing campaign. We applied NFC on over 45,000 bottles, across 1,600 Tesco stores, making it the largest activation of its kind.
We wanted to use smart packaging to reinforce Malibu’s position as a summer icon. So we fitted each bottle with an NFC chip. Turning the product into a platform for social engagement and communication.
Being app-less made NFC the ideal technology to place behind the iconic Malibu sunset. But seeing as it’s so new, it was important to guide users through. We did this using a neck hanger on the bottle - creating a simple, branded experience.
